Latinx+ and TheBody are jointly conducting a national survey of select HIV-focused and LGBTQI+ organizations to gather quantitative data (not personally identified) on the representation of openly HIV+ Latinx people on your organization’s executive team, staff, and board.  The survey can be found at this link.

We want to make sure we have the most up to date information, which is why we are asking you to complete the survey by November 30, 2022.

Once complete, the Latinx PLHIV Representation Report will be made publicly available, and will be published and analyzed on TheBody’s digital platforms and elsewhere.

Responsiveness and transparency are important values for non-profit organizations, especially those serving disenfranchised, marginalized and/or at-risk communities. We hope that you will be able to respond as thoughtfully and thoroughly as possible.

LatinX+ PLHIV network was created in 2018 by Latinx community leaders and advocates living with HIV from across the continental United States and Puerto Rico. Our steering committee and other information about Latinx+ can be found at Latinxplus.com. Core to our mission is to elevate HIV+ Latinx voices in policy, advocacy, and community spaces.

Since its inception in 1995, TheBody has published vital HIV-related information, news, support, and personal perspectives. TheBody is one of the most widely respected resources on HIV/AIDS, and a powerful platform for supporting the needs and interests of people living with, affected by, and concerned about HIV.

Thank you in advance for your attention to this request. Please do not hesitate to contact me directly with any questions you may have.  To reiterate, we are not asking for the names of any individuals with your organization who are living with HIV (unless you choose to provide them), we are just gathering numeric data for our analysis.

 Sincerely,

Javier Morales For the LatinX+ Steering Committee
